Aletha Ann Dean-Clemons was born in Holly Springs, Mississippi to the late Rev. Thomas Dean and Rosie B. Cook-Dean. The family later moved to Wichita, Kansas where she attended Dunbar Elementary, Ingles Elementary, Roosevelt Junior High, and Wichita High School East. She later attended University of Maryland Branch Munich in Neu Ulm, West Germany, El Paso Community College El Paso, Texas, finishing her education at the University of Texas El Paso, El Paso, Texas. Her area of concentration is Special Education.
Aletha is married with 2 children, 5 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. She has traveled all over the United States and Several foreign countries. She has served as 1st Lady in all three regions of the Third Episcopal District, The Kansas - Missouri Region, The Southeast Missouri, Illinois, and Wisconsin Region, the Michigan - Indiana Region, Mid-Michigan District and now the Detroit District, The Womack Temple Church’s 1st lady.
While working outside the home she has worked with the Leavenworth School Board Leavenworth, Kansas and Topeka School Board Topeka, Kansas. She chose early retirement from the school system to travel with her family.
Over the years she has received many awards for excellence; she has served as the Minister’s Spouses and Widows President/Kansas District and Reginal president for the Michigan-Indiana Region, the Missionary President for The Grace CME Church in Detroit also Missionary President for Lane Memorial Church Jackson, Michigan. What she feels most important “Is God Pleased with my Praise”. Her motto is “What God has for me it is for me”.
